What is the Pupil Premium?

Pupil premium is funding given to schools to help raise standards further in education. The funding is in addition to the main school funding. It is calculated based on the number of children receiving free school meals (FSM). The school decides how to spend this funding and must ensure that standards are raised as a result of this funding.
